Because of losses of 5.6 billion euros! Amazon delays the construction of the new Logistics Center in Spain!

According to reports, Amazon has postponed the construction of the new Logistics Center in Spain to 2024. The planned scale is about 150,000 square meters. The reason for the suspension is caused by inflation and the decline in consumer demand.

Although the e -commerce market has achieved strong growth during the epidemic, this year’s consumer demand has declined. Amazon has vigorously built logistics systems in the strong growth of several years, but it takes a lot of money to build and maintain these logistics systems now. According to Amazon, in the second quarter of this year, overcapacity, productivity loss and inflation caused the company to lose 5.6 billion euros. In addition, Spain’s inflation rate has reached about 10.5%, and Spain’s e -commerce is also slowing.

Therefore, Amazon has postponed the city of Murcia, Salangsa, Victoria, San Sebastian, Asuiria, Vigo, Sevilla, Herona, and Leius (Tasa La Guna), the new warehouse is delayed until 2024.

Amazon has 28 logistics centers in Spain. In July, it opened a new center in ONDA, with more than 130,000 square meters of storage space, and stored up to 4 million large products. Amazon does not currently close the plans to close Spain’s existing logistics centers.
