Chemical filament

Chemical filament

1. FDY full stretch yarn:

Full name: FULL DRAW YARN full stretch yarn (Taiwan called full stretch yarn). The synthetic fiber filament is further obtained by spinning and drawing. The fiber has been fully stretched and can be directly used for textile warping.
Conventional fully drawn yarns such as polyester and nylon belong to chemical fiber filaments. FDY fabric feels smooth and soft, and is often used to weave silk fabrics. It has a wide range of uses in clothing and home textiles.

2. POY pre-oriented yarn
Full name: PRE-ORIENTED YARN or PARTIALLY ORIENTED YARN. Refers to incompletely stretched chemical fiber filaments with an orientation degree between unoriented filaments and drawn filaments obtained by high-speed spinning. Compared with undrawn yarn, it has a certain degree of orientation and good stability. It is commonly used as a special yarn for stretched false twisted textured yarn (DTY).

3. DTY stretched textured yarn:

Full name: DRAW TEXTURED YARN. It is made by using POY as raw silk, which is processed by stretching and false twisting. Often have a certain degree of elasticity and contractility.

4. ATY air textured yarn:

The principle is to use the air jet method to make the air jet technology to interlace the tow to form irregular twisted loops, so that the tow has a fluffy loop-like yarn. The processed textured yarn has the properties of both filament and spun yarn, with strong wool feeling, good hand feeling, and better coverage than spun yarn.
It is suitable for weaving and knitting. Using air texturing technology, it can be made into monofilament or multifilament with medium and fine deniers, or core-spun wool, linen, cotton, etc., called yarn-like textured yarns. Processing coarse-denier yarn for carpets, sofas and tapestries. Four types of raw yarns can be discharged on a general air texturing machine. The original yarns can be monofilaments or pre-oriented yarns. The monofilament fineness of general textured yarn is lower than 2.8 DTEX (2.5D). In order to increase the number of loops on the yarn, the oil content of the raw silk should be low.
The physical properties of air textured yarn are superior to the original yarn before deformation in terms of bulkiness, air permeability, gloss, and softness. The fineness is 10-15% higher than that of the original filament. The boiling water shrinkage is maintained at about 3%, but the strength is reduced by 40% because only a small part of the monofilament is stretched, but it bears the bearing capacity of the entire tow.

5. Other chemical fiber filament types:
Primary yarn: undrawn yarn (conventional spinning) (UDY), semi-pre-oriented yarn (medium speed spinning) (MOY), highly oriented yarn (ultra-high speed spinning) (HOY)

Drawing yarn: low-speed drawing yarn (DY), full-fetching yarn (one-step spinning method) (FOY)
Textured wire: conventional textured wire (DY)

6. Identification method:
1. Hand-drawn method:
Generally, POY can be stretched longer, and FDY can be stretched less. Because POY is a pre-oriented yarn, it is not fully stretched, and the remaining elongation must be above 50%; while FDY is a fully oriented yarn, the remaining elongation is generally above 40%, which is relatively stable.
2. Appearance recognition method:
DTY fibers are crimped, POY and FDY fibers are straight, while FDY has better strength, and POY is less powerful.

7. The difference between filament and staple fiber:
1. Filament is a continuous thread obtained from natural or chemical fiber processing. It is divided into monofilament and multifilament without cutting process.
2. Short fiber (SPUN) refers to fibers with a length of a few millimeters to several tens of millimeters, such as natural fibers such as cotton, wool, and hemp, which can also be made from filaments cut.
