In 2017, Chinese tourists spent a total of $ 260 billion, twice as much as Americans, much higher than the British. The consumption level of Chinese tourists was ahead of other countries such as Germany or France.

According to data from the State Statistics Bureau of Spain, the average expenditure of each Chinese tourist before the epidemic was 2,669 euros, which is equivalent to about 322 euros per day. This number far exceeds the 1096 euros of the Germans, the 1276 euros of the Nordic tourists, the 1293 euros of the Russians, and the 2124 euros of the Japanese.
