The most avant -garde elderly in Europe is in this country! 80%will buy online!

According to the latest data from Anbo of the Dutch Association, at least four -fifths of the Dutch elderly people often shop online. For most of them, it is the main reason for offline orders. According to the previous research in 2018, only 45% of the elderly in the Netherlands are shopping online. Now this number has risen to 80%.

For another 20%of the elderly who are unwilling to shop online, there are many reasons for buying online. As high as 73% said they want to look at and try before ordering products; some people (42%) indicate that returns are troublesome.

On the other hand, the elderly in online shopping said that they did so for convenience (60%). In addition, at least 42% of people’s online orders are because some products can only be purchased online. Among the products ordered by the elderly online, clothing, shoes and accessories are the most popular (63%), followed by books (44%) and electronic products (35%).

It is also worth noting that consumers of this age group do not often order groceries online. Only 21% of respondents sometimes buy food online, and up to 37% even say they will never order food grocery online.
