Young people in Europe are keen to rent second -hand clothing or become a new direction of e -commerce development.

European second -hand items trading culture has been working for years, and second -hand items trading markets are very mature, especially in fashion clothing and furniture second -hand product transactions. In combination with the recent new trend of young consumers, and the news that the fashion fast -selling company has entered the second -hand clothing market, second -hand fashion may be the new direction of the e -commerce industry in the future.

A representative survey announced by the green and peaceful organization of the environmental organization at the end of July. Among the young people aged 18 to 29, 15%of the respondents said that they had rented and purchased second -hand clothing. More and more clothing suppliers in Europe have begun to provide clothing rental services, among which the membership model is popular with young people. For example, a member model launched by a German clothing supply website “KLEIDEREI”: Customers can enjoy the rental service for 29 euros per month, and rent a maximum of four clothes at a time, which can be replaced at any time.

Fashion fast-selling company H & M started to deploy the second-hand clothing market as early as last year. Its Sweden, Germany, Canada and other stations have set up second-hand product sales page “H & M Pre-Loved” and “H & M Rewear”. Irish clothing retailer Primark also announced last week that it will cooperate with second -hand clothing company Vintage WHOLESALE Company to open a counter for it in the Primark store. In an interview, Jermaine Lapwood, director of innovation and future trend, said, “We hope that clothes can be appreciated and kept in circulation for longer.”

As the concept of “environmental protection” and “sustainable” is accepted by more and more consumers, how to do better in this regard to cater to consumers has become the main problem for many fashion fast -selling companies. In this context, companies including H & M and Zara are working hard to improve the durability of clothing and repair and promote second -hand clothing transactions. Will the expanding second -hand clothing trading market be a new direction for e -commerce development? What do you think?
