Alibaba has another big move? Will invest $2 billion in this country?

According to reports, Alibaba announced that it will invest 2 billion US dollars in Turkey through its Turkish e-commerce platform Trendyol, and has invested 1.4 billion US dollars in Turkey through Trendyol.

Trendyol said that Alibaba intends to establish a data and logistics center in Ankara, Turkey, and an export business center at Istanbul Airport. The plan was put forward when Michael Evans, president of Alibaba, met with Erdogan, president of Turkey.

Trendyol said that through the company, Alibaba has invested 1.4 billion US dollars in Turkey so far; Evans believes that Turkey has the potential to become a world-leading exporter of electronic products.

Trendyol’s overseas expansion direction is mainly for neighboring Middle Eastern countries and Europe. In 2020, Trendyol announced that it would enter 27 European countries such as Italy, Spain and Britain through its website. It is reported that Trendyol has settled in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Germany and other sites. In 2022, Trendyol launched its website in Germany. In just one year, Trendyol has accumulated more than 1 million users in Germany, and plans to increase its income in Germany to 3 billion euros by 2025.
