Alibaba regards the European market as its primary goal to expand its international influence!

According to Reuters, the CEO of Alibaba Group stated that with the establishment of its overseas business platform, their primary goal is to promote and gain a market share throughout Europe. European Tmall, derived from Chinese Tmall, will provide local brands and services to European consumers. At present, the company has started a pilot project in Spain.

Due to the announcement in March that Alibaba would split into six parts, most of which would be preparing to raise funds or go public. One department will cover Alibaba’s domestic e-commerce market in China, while the other department will be its overseas e-commerce market, such as Lazada and AliExpress, which serve Southeast Asia. In addition, according to a report by Reuters on Wirtschafts Woche, Alibaba wants to expand its international influence, especially by expanding its B2C online platform Tmall’s business to Europe.
