Attention! EBay faces huge fines for selling polluted vehicle parts.

According to Carscoops in the United States, eBay may be sanctioned for allowing the sale of more than 343,000 pieces of equipment to cancel or modify the automobile anti-pollution system. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit against the marketing of equipment such as exhaust gas that invalidates the catalyst. In the worst case, the company will have to pay billions of dollars in fines.

In 2022, eBay has banned the sale of parts that may manipulate vehicle emissions. During this period, despite the company’s efforts, sellers can continue to sell their products in the market. The Clean Air Law stipulates that it is illegal to install devices to change emissions in cars, and it is also illegal to sell these products.

This is not the first time that eBay has received a lawsuit. The company violated the 2020 US EPA ban for selling 23,000 kinds of pesticides without approval or restrictions many years ago. In addition, they also sold more than 5,600 kinds of paint removal products, including dichloromethane, a substance related to fatal brain cancer and liver cancer.
