Attention! European second-hand market crisis, frequent fishing incidents!

ecently, cases of fraud by stealing credit card data have occurred frequently in European second-hand commodity trading platforms. In these messages called “phishing”, fraudsters will request access to credentials, emails, bank accounts or payment services used by users in applications. The main ways for criminals to obtain the data of second-hand sellers are to ask novice sellers for e-mail, send attachments containing malicious software or links to fraudulent websites, or ask sellers to provide bank card information for payment or “stop stealing brushes” by expressing interest in second-hand goods and false winning information.

These messages or files usually contain the company Logo, name or some features, such as colors, fonts and buttons used by regular second-hand platforms in Europe, such as Amazon, Wallapop and Vinted. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully check the website address or the sender’s email address. If it is not an official address, it should be closed immediately and avoid providing personal information directly to others (not through the trading platform).
