Temu has changed from Shein’s main competitor to one of the most criticized e-commerce platforms in Spain. Many customers claim that shopping on Temu is a scam.
Temu provides customers with a wide range of products, which makes platforms such as Shein and AliExpress daunting. This causes the reliability of Temu to be questioned, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between true and false comments.

Shein has sued Temu, accusing it of using Shein’s famous brand in the United States for profit. The accusation is based on several pictures of Twitter accounts created by imitating Shein’s official account, which redirect users to a link to download Temu APP. Shein later revised the content of the lawsuit, accusing Temu of making Google ads that appeared to come from Shein, but actually brought users to Temu’s website.
The lawsuit also pointed out that Temu’s propaganda activities were illegal. According to Shein, Temu provided some online celebrity with false and misleading statements about Shein, asking them to claim that Temu’s clothes are cheaper and of better quality than Shein’s. It is reported that Temu asked the court to dismiss the case, arguing that online celebrity’s activities were exaggerated and did not violate the trademark law and unfair competition law.
We need to pay close attention to users’ opinions and future situation of Temu, so as to know whether it is safe, whether it is risky to buy here, or whether it is just another platform that failed to gain favorable comments in Spain due to after-sales service.
