TikTok’s e-commerce department has started self operation! Benchmarking Shein and Temu?

According to foreign media reports, Tiktok is testing the “Trend Beat” shopping function in a new application, which provides products shipped and sold by ByteDance. This feature is currently being tested in the UK. The shopping section provides products that appear in popular videos, such as ear spoons and tools for removing clothing and hair.

According to insiders, Trendy Beat aims to make use of the explosive products in TikTok so that ByteDance can quickly obtain data and manufacture related products. Foreign media reported that internal employees of Byte said that in order to promote e-commerce business, ByteDance has recruited employees from SHEIN.

This sales model is similar to Amazon’s way of manufacturing and promoting its own best-selling products, and it is TikTok’s new e-commerce shopping move that builds on the existing TikTok Shop. In addition, ByteDance is building an online retail department to challenge Fast fashion brand SHEIN and TEMU, which has been growing rapidly recently.

It is reported that ByteDance has been trying to expand TikTok’s e-commerce function to replicate the success of its Chinese sister application Tiktok.
