What layout has SF made for internationalization by buying planes and opening routes?

According to reports, SF Holdings announced that the board of directors agreed that the company would be listed on the H-share main board, and SF will complete the issuance and listing at an appropriate time and issue window within 18 months from the date of deliberation and approval by the shareholders’ meeting or other periods agreed to be extended. SF Express made clear the timetable for the second listing, which marked the acceleration of China Express’s landing on the international stage.

Taking advantage of the comprehensive commissioning of Ezhou Airport, the internationalization strategy will become the focus of SF’s next efforts.

It is understood that SF Group has four listed companies: SF Holdings, SF City, SF Real Estate Trust and Kerry Logistics. The latter three companies have been listed in Hong Kong stocks. After the listing in Hong Kong is completed, Wang Wei will gather four listed companies in Hong Kong stocks.

Compared with the main business express delivery, due to the limited business scale, its companies did not perform particularly well after listing. After the acquisition of Kerry Logistics, Wang Wei expects to realize the internationalization of SF Group, and still depends on the subject of express delivery.

SF Group said that according to the regulations of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the number of H shares issued by the company will not exceed 10% of the company’s total share capital after this issuance according to its own capital needs and capital needs for future business development. At the same time, the company granted the overall coordinator a 15% over-allotment right.

In SF Express, the keyword “international” is frequently mentioned. In fact, international business and supply chain business have gradually become the second growth engine of SF, accounting for 33% of total revenue in 2022.

After listing in Hong Kong, SF Express, as a direct mode, can speed up its business layout and attract more overseas investors, thus enhancing the company’s international influence. This will help to realize SF’s strategic goal of internationalization.

For SF, if Kerry Logistics is its first springboard to the sea, then Ezhou Airport will become the fulcrum of SF’s overseas efforts.

Before the acquisition of Kerry Logistics, SF’s international business was limited to express delivery in Southeast Asia, Europe and America. After the acquisition of Kerry, Kerry was responsible for the supply, while SF provided the aircraft. At present, the space of SF international flights is also managed and sold by Kerry Logistics, thus solving the problem of low return loading rate.

It is reported that the current Ezhou Huahu Airport is undergoing a transition. According to the plan announced by SF Airlines, it is planned to open 40 domestic freight routes and 4 to 6 international freight routes before the end of the year, initially forming a fast cargo flow circle pattern of “reaching the whole country overnight and connecting the world every other day”. Since May, international flights from Ezhou to Los Angeles, falak, Fuzhou, new york and other places have been opened one after another, and the route network layout around Asia’s largest air cargo hub has been accelerated in an all-round way.

It is worth noting that the sailing of “Ezhou-Los Angeles”, as the first direct route of Ezhou Airport to North America, is also the first time that SF Airlines connects its core hub with North America, which will attract goods exported to North America from all over the country to gather in Ezhou and ship through Ezhou, further promoting Ezhou Huahu Airport to release the efficiency of air cargo hub.

Before the direct flight to North America, SF Airlines has opened several international cargo routes at Huahu Airport and several other domestic airports, including Ezhou to Delhi, Wuhan to Abu Dhabi, and Chengdu to Mumbai.

The Shunfeng transshipment center of Ezhou Airport will be put into use soon. The super transshipment center covers an area of 680,000 square meters and can handle 500,000 pieces per hour. Ezhou Airport is expected to have a throughput of 2.45 million tons by 2025, which is equivalent to doubling the capacity of SF in 2022.
